Every Day is an Art Day

It is the first day of my blog.  I’m trying to get my super awesome “Warrior Women” t-shirt design up on this artist site. Over the past weekend I was at the Tulsa Powwow in its 53 year.  Had a good time seeing all the people who love to watch Indians dance and who love to see what Indians paint and who just love Indians.  The people who put this on have to be admired.  They do it from the heart.  In celebration of this art opportunity I picked up two canvases that had been on the floor of the gallery “for years” and put the acrylic paint to them.  The result on one was an exciting colorful burst of women from the fabric.  Yellow horses!  I call this one When Women Ride.  It is not for sale but giclee prints will be available.  The other one was earth tones with pale yellow background, somewhat abstract.  I sold it.  Hurray!
When women ride, a whole host of powerful stuff ensues.
Tomorrow I go to the WEWIN conference, Women Empowering Women for Indian Nations to learn what the powerful women from far and near have done on their journeys.
